Translated letter:

I, Alix, duchess of Burgundy, make known to present and future that William, lord of Mont-Saint-Jean, commended and approved and made firm in our presence that donation which lord William, his father, made to the church of St. Stephen of Dijon for the tithe which he had at Thenissey in corn and in wine, and in good faith promised before us to bear to said church legitimate guarantee of said tithe against all false-accusers. Enacted in this 1218th year of Grace, in the month of March.

Ego Alaidis, ducissa Burgundie, notum facio presentibus et futuris quod Guillermus, dominus Montis Sancti Johannis, laudavit, approbavit et ratam habuit in presentia nostra donationem illam quam dominus Guillermus, pater suus, fecerat ecclesie Sancti Stephani Divionensis de decima quam habebat apud Tenisse tam in blado quam in vino, et bona fide coram nobis promisit dicte ecclesie legitimam garantiam de dicta decima portare contra omnes calumniatores. Actum est hoc anno Gratie millesimo ducentesimo octavo decimo, mense martio.

The duchess affirms that William of Mont-Saint-Jean ratified in her presence the gift of his father, William of Mont-Saint-Jean, of the tithe of Thenissey to the church of Saint Etienne of Dijon.
