A letter from Alix of Vergy (1227)

Translated letter:

I, Alix, duchess of Burgundy, make known to all that lord Odo Ragot, my faithful, acknowledged in my presence that Pons then lord of Grancey had no right ever in the dwellings of Saint Benigne and of Moytrum and if he had some dwellings there, he had them unjustly and Odo and his heirs released them to me and mine. Enacted in this one thousand two hundredth twenty seventh year of the Lord.

Ego Alaydis, ducissa Burgundie, omnibus notum facio quod dominus Odo Ragoz, fidelis meus, in mea presentia recognovit quod dominus Pontius de Granceyo tunc tempore nichil juris unquam habuerat in gistis Sancti Benigni et de Moytrum, et si ibi aliquos gistos habuerat, injuste eos habuerat et Odo et heredes sui mihi et meis quittaverunt. Actum est hoc anno Domini MoCCo XXoVIIo.

The duchess attests to a transfer to her of dwellings illegally held by one of her men.
