A letter from William of Seixag

Translated letter:

From this hour fourth, [I] William, son of Garsend, will not deceive/deprive you, Ermengard, daughter of Rangard, nor you Bernard, son of Ermengard, of the castle which they call Saixag, of that tower, nor of the towers, walls, and fortresses that are there today and will be made there in the future.  I shall not take it from  you [pl.] nor of it from you [sing.], nor shall I forbid  it to you or forbid of it to you, nor any man or woman by my counsel or by my artifice; and if there is a man or woman, women or men, who take it from you or take of it from you, I, the aforesaid William, shall be your aid in that, to you, said Ermengard and to you said Bernard, by righteous faith, without deception, with you and without you; and from those, male or female, who would take it or of it from you, I would not have or hold peace nor fellowship nor would I make a truce except what you would have, with my knowledge, until you have recovered that said castrum of Seixag; and if I can recover it, I would return it to your power without reward of possession or honor and without deceiving you.  And as many times as you call on me through your messenger or messengers, I would turn it over to your power without reward of possession and without deceiving you, and I shall hold that oath to you in the future.  As it is written above, so I, said William, will hold this to you and attend to this wholly to you, said Ermengard, and to you said Bernard, by righteous faith except as you would release me, to my knowledge,  by your gracious spirit.

De ista hora in antea, Guillelmus, filius Garsend, non dezebrei te, Ermengardis, filiam Rangartz, ni te, Bernardum, ac filium Ermengarts, de castello, quem vocant Saixag, de ipsa turre ni de las tors ni dels murs di de las forcias que ibi hodie sunt et in antea ibi erunt factas.  Ni vos tolrei ni te n tolrei ni vos vedarei ni us en vedarei neque homo neque femina per meum consilium neque per meum ingenium ; et si est homo aut femina, femine vel homines, qui vos tollant ni us en tollant, adiutor vos en serei ego, prescriptus Guillelmus, ad te, Ermengarts suprascriptum, et ad te, Bernardum suprascriptam per rectam fidem, sine inganno, ab vos et senes vos; et ab illos neque ab illas, qui vobis illum tollant ni us en tollant, finem nec societatem non aurei ni non tenrei ni treguam non aurei, for qual vos i aures, me sciente, usque ipsum castrum iam dictum de Seixag recuperatum habeatis; et si ego illum recuperare potero, in vestra potestate lo tornarei sine lucro de aver et de honore et sine vestra decepcione. Historical context:

William swears an oath of fidelity to Ermengard and her son for his castle.  A castrum is an administrative unit with a castle at the center.
