Chirograph, divided by letters of the alphabet, in which it is stated -- in the year 1171 from the incarnation of the Lord – that Guillelma, viscountess of Nîmes, for herself and her son, gave a cliff, situated in a place called the Chairola, to Stephen Sperandeo, his stepmother Guillelma, and his sons, William and Bernard, and their successors to receive according to the usual conditions. “Witnesses of this are: William Benedict, Bernard Master and three others. Peter the Small, commanded by both sides, wrote it.”

Chirographum, per litteras alphabeti divisum, quo constat, -- anno ab incarnatione Domini M.C.LXXI, -- Guillelmam Nemausensem vicecomitissam, pro se et filio suo, unam costam, sitam in loco qui dicitur la Chairola, Stephano Sperandeo, Guillelmae ejus novercae, et filiis ejus, Guillelmo et Bernardo, eorumque successoribus ad acaptum, solitis conditionibus, donasse. – “Hujus rei sunt testes: Willelmus Benedictus, Bernardus Magister et tres alii. Petrus Petiti scripsit, mandatus ex utraque parte.”
