A letter to William Baltugat and Matilda

Translated letter:

Chirograph, divided by letters of the alphabet, in which it is stated -- in the year 1171 from the incarnation of the Lord – that Guillelma, viscountess of Nîmes and Agde and viscount Bernard, her son, approved and granted in perpetuity to William Baltugat, his wife Matilda, and their children, every honor that Raynald of Bouillargues, priest, held in the tithing of St. Felix of Bouillargues from the viscount of Nîmes, depending for approval on 100 solidos of Melgueil paid, and five solidos of public money to be paid annually at the feast of St. Michael by himself and his auccessors perpetually.  “Witnesses of this are:  William of Vilar, William Guirald and eight others.  Peter the Small, commanded by both sides, wrote it.”

Chirographum, per litteras alphabeti divisum, quo constat, -- anno ab incarnatione Domini M.C.LXXII, -- Guillelmam Nemausensem et Agatensem vicecomitissam et Bernardum vicecomitem, ejus filium, omnem honorem, quem Rainaldus de Boilanicis sacerdos in decimaria Sancti Felicis de Boilanicis a vicecomite Nemausensi tenebat, Guillelmo Baltugato, Mateldi ejus uxori, eorumque infantibus, laudasse et perpetuo concessisse, mediantibus pro laudament C. solidis Melgoriensibus semel solutis, et quinque solidis publicae monetae annuatim ad festum sancti Michaelis sibi et successoribus suis perpetuo solvendis. -- – “Hujus rei sunt testes:  Guillelmus de Vilari, Guillelmus Guiraldus, et octo alii.  Petrus Petiti scripsit, mandatus ex utraque parte.”
