A letter of confirmation

Translated letter:

Elizabeth, by the grace of God, queen of Hungary.  To all the faithful of Christ who will have notice of the presents, greetings in the bestower of salvation.  We wish to make manifest to all by the contents of the presents that master Mortunus, son of Mortun, and Thomas, son of Boxa, of Číčov (Chichou), coming into our presence showed us the charter of lord Ladislaus, illustrious king of Hungary, our dearest consort, on the granting made of the reginal land of Sikár, seeking with urgency that we deign to confirm that charter as fixed, agreeable and acceptable by our charter; of which the substance is (see in the year 1270).  We therefore agreeing to the just and legitimate request of master Mortunus and Thomas, considering particularly their loyalties and services in different military operations of our kingdom, supplied by loyalty to the royal crown, we gave said land of Sikár with the goodwill and consent of our barons with all its uses and appurtenances, and subsequently left it to the master Mortunus and Thomas and their heirs to be possessed perpetually and peacefully; confirming the inserted privilege of our lord king word for word in the presents; having them introduced into corporal possession of said land of Sikár by Togodou, bailiff (bilotus, a judiciary official), our man, with the testimony of the chapter of Hánta, our loyal [people]; to whose investigation we had committed that matter, with no one opposing it and those who shared boundaries and all the neighbors of that land present, as set out clearly to us in the letters of said chapter.  In  memory and perpetualy stability of which thing we granted the letters strengthened by the protection of our double seal.  Deated by the hand of master Paul, provost of Veszprém, our faithful chancellor of our court.  In the 1281st year of the Lord.

Elisabeth, Dei gracia, regina Hungarie.  Omnibus Christi fidelibus, presencium noticiam habituris, salutem in salutis largitore.  Vniuersis tenore presencium volumus fieri manifestum, quod magister Mortunus, filius Mortun, et Thomas, filius Boxa, de Chichou, ad nostram accedentes presenciam exhibuerunt nobis priuilegium Domini Ladislai, illustris regis Hungariae, consortis nostri karissimi, super collacione terre reginalis Sykar vocatae confectum, petentes cum instantia, vt ipsum priuilegium ratum, gratum et acceptum habere et nostro dignaremur priuilegio confirmare; cuius tenor talis est (v. ad an. 1270).  Nos igitur iustis et legitimis peticionibus ipsorum Magistri Mortunus, et Thome acquiescentes, considerantes presertim fidelitates et seruicia ipsorum, in diuersis expeditionibus regni nostri, ob fidelitatem corone regie impensa, prefatam terram Sykar de beneplacito et consensu baronum nostrorum cum omnibus vtilitatibus suis et pertinenciis vniuersis dedimus, et reliquimus eidem Magistro Mortunus et Thome, ac eorum heredibus consequenter, perpetuo ac pacifice possidendam; priuilegium Domini nostri regis prefati de verbo ad verbum presentibus insertum confirmantes; introduci faciendo eosdem in corporalem possessionem terre predicte Sykar per Togodou bilotum, hominem nostrum, sub testimonio Capituli Hanthensis, fidelium nostrorum; quorum inquisitioni commiseramus ipsum factum, nemine contradictore existente, presentibus commetaneis, et vicinis omnibus ipsius terre, sicut per litteras capituli memorati nobis constitit euidenter.  In cuius rei memoriam et perpetuam firmitatem presentes concessimus litteras dupplicis sigilli nostri munimine roboratas.  Datum per manus Magistri Paulli, Vesprimiensis Praepositi, aule nostre Vice-Cancellary, fidelis nostri.  Anno Domini MCCLXXX primo.
