A grant of land

Sender

Isabella/Elizabeth of Anjou

Receiver

Abbot of Somogy

Translated letter:

E[lizabeth] by the grace of God queen of Hungary to her faithful abbot and convent of Somogy greetings and grace.  Lucach son of Bagun, our youth, who announced to us the joy on the part of our lord king for the victory obtained against the Cumans over their rebellion, asked us that he be given by us a certain land of our criers/heralds called Atád in the county of Somogy, saying that there were about six dwellings in it.  Whence we order your loyalty that you send one of yours under whose witness our tavarnik Andreas can walk said land with boundary-sharers and neighbors present and establish it for that Luchach, our youth, with all its uses and appurtenances, if it is not contradicted/opposed; that opposer however if there be any, he would summon to our presence at a fixed time and after that you would faithfully write back by letter the date of summons and the assigned time and names of those cited and the number of dwellings of those residing in that land.  Dated at Buda, on the day after St. Nicholas the confessor.
