Biography

Margaret and her sister Pontia were granddaughters of Maurice of Montboissier and Raingard; their father was Hugh, their uncle, Peter the Venerable. They followed their grandmother Raingard into the monastery of Marcigny, where she was a highly respected figure, although they were not as aristocratic as most of the nuns there.
